The Season

Since it's been so long since I posted...what comes to mind is how much Liam has enjoyed the two parades he has been to (I mean really, firetrucks, tractors and marching bands, all in the same place?) I'm sure to him it could hardly be any better unless "Thom-as" was in it. As in, Thomas the Tank Engine. If the TV is on, he asks for Thomas. The TV is merely a delivery system for the Thomas fix. We will be in trouble when he learns to operate the DVR, it may be parental lockdown time.

The typical toddler food idiosyncracies have started....if he sees ketchup, he'll want it. Whether it is on a food or not. I put it on a biscuit the other day so he wouldn't keep licking my french fries and handing them back. He doesn't like french fries, go figure. But he mostly definitely won't starve and eats enough fruit to send Carmen Miranda screaming in terror.

So for Christmas, some Thomas stuff, some Little People, some books...and if Santa happens to spot a pedal car before Christmas, well that might be under the tree also.

A late photo from the reunion....Liam with his cousin Brooke again.

And with Grandma-

Back to the Beach

We stayed plenty busy even though the weather wasn't that great. Back to the aquarium, to the train museum...oh, and we discovered the doughnuts on the Boardwalk. Everyone was right, they are the best doughnuts ever!

It's a Hard Knock Life

I didn't realize that toddler life can be so hard! The other week I pick him up from daycare, ANOTHER boo-boo report. This time he got bitten on the hand by one of his "friends." Not as bad as the face-biting, though.

Yesterday they called to have him picked up, they thought he had pink eye. A trip to the doctor uncovered a sinus infection. Ick. He slept for a record 12 hours last night. He was whooped.

We went to the beach the other weekend...it was too cool to really get in the water, in addition to the rough waves, but Liam didn't care much about it anyhow.

Eat!

We went to a family reunion on Saturday. Liam did not want to socialize, he wasn't familiar with anyone, all he wanted to do was to cling to me or to be held. This went on for about 45 minutes, even after John got there. All the food was laid out, you know the southern family reunion staples; chicken, pinto beans, corn, you name it, along with a whole table just for desserts. John was asking Liam, "Are you ready to eat?" Liam is now repeating the last word you say usually, so he said "eat!" He was finally warming up a little.
Someone started hushing the crowd, because we were to listen to someone speak briefly first, about who was lost this last year and a prayer. Almost immediately after it got quiet, you heard "eat!" "eat!" mixed in with one or two "hot!"'s. We couldn't quiet him down at all, if we hadn't been holding him, I think he would have run over to the table. He kept on, even through the prayer, the guy leading it didn't even break a smile, but I certainly couldn't help it. Needless to say, I was almost first in line when the prayer was over! Liam apparently loves a buffet! He ate tons of fruit and I had to go get him more "bock bock." (chicken-who taught him that?) He didn't even mind BBQ chicken. He had more sugar than he's ever had before, so we let him run and run and run.
He was the littlest guy there and didn't mind any of those old people picking him up. He just wouldn't stay long. His love of chicken is duly noted! (He also devoured salmon this week.)

Mean girl!

When I picked Liam up from daycare Wednesday, we got a "Boo-boo Report", poor guy got bitten by a girl. They said he was standing too close to her, I guess she got mad and bit him. The kicker? She bit him on the FACE! You can practically count how many teeth she has. Mabe I'll post the pic, if I get around to uploading them.

Words...and the doctor

Liam went to see the doctor on Monday and had shots. He is 26.2 lbs. and 32", right around the 50th percentile, doc said.
He seemed to have bounced back better from the shots than before.
Words are what it is all about the last week or two. You say a sentence, he will pick out a word and repeat it. Juice and more seem to be common words...and of course, lawnmower. Sheesh! Truck, digger....I have gotten him to say please, which comes out "pease" and would allow him to get anything he wants, but don't tell him that.
He also had a playdate Sunday with James, who is about 2 months older than he is. Once Liam got comfortable in new surroundings, they ran loops around the house with James' dog, Dede. The boys giggled the whole time. I should have taken pictures! Pictures are fewer and far between because the camera is dying. It won't open right away and won't download but a few pics at a time. It is hard to catch Action Liam with a slow camera!

I'm just getting around to putting some of these pictures from our trip to the river a few weeks ago on here...this is Liam with his cousin Brooke. Notice the belly.

The fall down the concrete boat ramp a few weeks ago, not so fun.
Firsr boat ride, fun, but then he snoozed the whole time, with his face down in his life jacket. At least he wasn't scared!

Liam, month 17

It's all about the trucks. Digger, digger, digger.

If he can fall just a little bit, but without hurting himself, that is just the greatest thing to him. So bouncing on the bed is as good as a trampoline.
